  9. {ARTISOFT ANNOUNCES NEW LANTASTIC(R) for NETWARE(R) }

  11. Adds LANtastic's Peer-to-Peer Features and Resource  Sharing to Novell's
  12. Netware (TUCSON, Ariz. -- June 25, 1991) -- Artisoft announced today its
  13. new LANtastic for NetWare network operating system, which will provide
  14. Novell NetWare users with LANtastic's peer-to-peer features and will sell
  15. for $499 per network. Artisoft's LANtastic for NetWare will run on top of
  16. Novell and require Novell's NetBIOS to operate.  It will allow programs,
  17. data, and peripherals such as printers, hard drives, tape backups and CD
  18. ROMs to be shared resources among nodes on a Novell network by 
  19. running under Novell's NetBIOS emulation.

  21. {"LANtastic for NetWare provides a low cost, easy-to-use solution to
  22. {Novell users wanting  the features, peripheral sharing, and flexibility of a
  23. {peer-to-peer network," }said Jack Schoof, Artisoft's President and CEO. 
  24. {"It's an especially great value when compared to the simple hardware and
  25. {software print server solutions on the market."}  Novell users will be able
  26. to add printers (up to five per computer) to any computer on the  network
  27. and share them with others while simultaneously working at that computer
  28. and maintaining connection to Novell's dedicated server.  Individuals,
  29. corporate workgroups, and even large departments will be able to overlay
  30. NetWare's centralized structure and administration to permit localized
  31. control and access to each others progams, data, and  other shared
  32. resources.  LANtastic for NetWare's e-mail feature will even allow
  33. NetWare users to have voice mail capability across the network by adding
  34. Artisoft's Sounding Board adapters.  The Sounding Board adapter is a
  35. low-cost, IBM compatible expansion adapter with telephone style handset
  36. that converts between audio/voice signals and a digital data stream.  It
  37. sells  for $99 for ISA bus and $199 for Micro Channel.  Artisoft's LANtastic
  38. and other connectivity products have won 16 major industry awards over
  39. the past three years for their features, performance, ease of use, and low
